Let's face it! As times are changing, so is health. Why is this? One of the factors
that affect health is food. Our perception of food has shifted dramatically. We
think of food as something we eat in order to satisfy our cravings, or something we eat to receive comfort or pleasure from, or even something we eat to reward and treat ourself with. Well, what is the purpose of food?
According to Dictionary.com: Food - noun. "Any nourishing substance that is
eaten, drunk, or otherwise taken into the body to sustain life, provide energy, promote growth, etc." If we are eating "food", then why is it that we are more tired, in more pain, more depressed, more hungry, more obese, and more people are affected (even early on) from heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's, cancer, osteoporosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, etc.....more than ever before?
